Hello everyone, and welcome back to Akane Torikai’s Wandering Cat’s Cage. This week’s installment is chapter 9.

In this chapter, we get to know more about Mirai, a high school girl who lives in the city on the other side of the river. She’s searching for answers in her life, in much the same way that Sanada’s crew in the slums are… but are the answers they’re looking for the same, or in conflict with each other? Mirai last appeared in Chapter 6 (which also introduced her… classmate). Incidentally, “mirai” in Japanese means “future,” a name that’s perhaps both fitting and maybe ironic for a young girl in this world.
