FREE MANGA: Gay Doujinshi Q&A with Kaz!
The renowned Gay manga creator Kazuhide Ichikawa pulls back the curtain on gay manga in Japan!
Hello to readers old and new! We have a special treat for you this week, as we’ve commissioned an original short manga for your enjoyment!
Our friend Kazuhide Ichikawa is an out gay manga creator living in Tokyo, Japan. He’s been making gay-themed manga, most of it quite spicy, for more than 15 years. Having had work published in numerous Japanese gay magazines, including Badi, and the G-Men group of magazines, as well as nearly 100 unique doujishi (self-published comics), KAZ made his English-language debut in Massive: Gay Erotic Manga and the Men Who Make It in 2014. That book has just been reprinted in a third edition by Fantagraphics, and is available now!
We’ll be covering it on episode 68 of the Mangasplaining Podcast.
So to celebrate the republishing, and answer some of the questions we’d gotten about gay manga, doujinshi, and to go along with our BL coverage of late, we got Kaz to make an original manga for us. He also agreed to make ANOTHER manga for us in future, answering YOUR questions! So on this post (open to all), ask YOUR question of Gay Manga Artist and Doujinshi Expert Kazuhide Ichikawa, and he’ll answer it in a future comic! Mark “OKAY TO PRINT” in the comment:
If you’re shy, drop us your question at firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred name/how you want to be credited in the strip. No guarantee that your question will be chosen, sorry!
